Carla Gee, is deeply committed to advocating for the role community organisations and groups play working alongside Mana Whenua (people of the land) in caring for te taiao (our environment)

She is the CEO of EcoMatters one the largest Environmental Hubs in Aotearoa, and sits on the Board of the Community Energy Network.

Carla is passionate about protecting and improving water quality in Aotearoa and activating community to connect to their local waterways and in turn care for them. She believes that sharing the understanding of what is degrading our waterways and how these pollutants get into our streams, rivers and lakes connects our scientists and researchers directly to our communities, and enables grassroots action and the behaviour change needed for urgent care of this precious taonga.
