Shane Snyder is an endowed chair professor of environmental engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology, USA.  Prior to this appointment, he was a President’s Chair Professor and an Executive Director at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.  He is the Editor in Chief of the American Chemical Society’s journal, Environmental Science & Technology.  Over his career, he has conducted extensive research regarding the occurrence, fate, and treatment of water contaminants.  In recent years, his work has focused on oxidative water treatment processes and characterization of subsequent byproducts.  He has a passion for environmental pollutant mixture toxicity and treatment, most recently focusing on the highly toxic byproducts from chlorination of tire wear particles in drinking water sources.
